Maggie Parker launched Partnership Reston after eleven years with a development company in the earliest stages of delivering two new, large transit oriented developments (TOD’s). Located in Reston and Ashburn, Virginia they were harbingers of the economic boom generated by  Metro’s latest extension, the Silver Line.

Maggie, as Senior Vice President of Community Relations, supported the mission-critical work of her firm’s CEO and executive leadership team.  Working with their development team, Maggie established substantively engaged relationships with the communities the TOD’s resided in.  In addition to the community engagement, Maggie also managed the key relationships with the many stakeholders integral to the projects, including the transit authority (WMATA), the airports authority (MWAA), Fairfax County, Loudoun County, the Virginia State House, and Congressional representatives.

Maggie’s commitment to building dynamic communities has led her to leadership roles with a number of local organizations, including Public Art Reston, Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance, the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce, Reston Transportation Service District Board, Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce and Tephra Institute of Contemporary Art.

Maggie was compelled to establish Partnership Reston as she watched the economic investment into the region be perceived as disruptive. Her current mission is foremost to find common ground and good solutions through excellent communication between sometimes disparate parties.
